My top albums of 2025

I had a pretty extensive shortlist to narrow down to my top 10 albums of the year, which tells me that it was a good year for the kind of music I like!
My favourite album this year was Addison Rae’s debut ‘Addison’, but I don’t necessarily think it’s the most musically accomplished album of the year. That would be Rosalía’s ‘Lux’, which is an absolute tour de force. But I enjoyed listening to Addison more! It’s the kind of well-written, dreamy, slightly vague, slightly arty pop that I can listen to forever. A close second would be Lily Allen’s ‘West End Girl’, which is a beautiful, heartbreaking album but not quite as musically impressive as Lux or as purely pleasurable as Addison.
The funnest (and funniest) album of the year goes to Viagra Boys for ‘viagr aboys’, which makes me laugh literally every time I listen to it.
In terms of the new acts I’m most excited about, the debut albums from Die Spitz and Ninajirachi are fantastic and I can’t wait to see where they take their respective visions next.
Anyway, here are my top 10 albums of 2025 in alphabetical order!
Addison (Addison Rae)
Easy Machine (Zefereli)
Every Version Of Love (Clea)
I Love My Computer (Ninajirachi)
Lux (Rosalía)
Sinister Grift (Panda Bear)
Something To Consume (Die Spitz)
viagr aboys (Viagra Boys)
West End Girl (Lily Allen)
Whole World’s Gone Mad, And So Have I (JB Paterson)
Peace and love to everyone, and roll on 2026!
